Information used
We store website requests (business name, email, phone, industry, optional location and supplied links), business contact details, research source links, website content, preview access records, change requests, call notes, orders and delivery records. The information comes from business sources reviewed during preparation, and from details you provide. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a change request.
Why it is used
We use your website request details to research your business, contact you about the request, and prepare and show a relevant website, respond to corrections, process a purchase, deliver files and protect access. The owner must establish and document the appropriate lawful basis for research and any outreach before contacting prospects. Purchase information is needed to provide the requested digital files and maintain transaction records.
Preview activity and cookies
Private previews use an essential, HttpOnly session cookie lasting up to 30 days. We record preview opens, device-width choices, limited viewing time, change requests, checkout starts and downloads. Failed access attempts are rate-limited using a keyed hash of the network address rather than storing the address itself. We do not use advertising cookies or browser fingerprinting.
Optional visitor analytics
If you allow analytics through Privacy choices, we use a first-party cookie to recognise this browser for up to 90 days. We record pages viewed (without query strings or access tokens), referrer hostname, visible-page session time, visit count, browser, operating system, device category and approximate network location from our hosting provider. We do not store your IP address, capture form entries or track you across other websites. Location and device information can be inaccurate.
The owner can see participating visitors in a live dashboard and a rule-based estimate of purchase interest based on viewing a purchasable private website or its checkout. Public browsing and website requests have no assigned sales value; time on site and return visits do not increase the estimate. The score is not a validated purchase prediction and does not change prices, eligibility or access. Only a verified payment is counted as a sale. Analytics cookies, visits and order associations are separate from essential purchase records.
You can decline analytics and use the website normally. Open Privacy choices at the bottom of any customer page to withdraw consent and remove this browser’s analytics records. We honour Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Analytics records expire after 90 days and are excluded from the business backup exports. A new visit starts after 30 minutes of inactivity; clearing cookies or changing devices starts a separate browser identity.
Payment and service providers
Payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout. BuiltReady does not collect or store card numbers. Website files and records are stored using the hosting platform’s database and object storage. Email, SMS and file-scanning providers may process relevant information when those services are enabled. Details of the owner’s selected providers are available on request.
Owner business research
The owner may use Codex to research public business links and save sourced business facts, services, branding, review summaries, public reviewer attribution, permitted excerpts, image references and uploaded business or review images. Source URLs, access dates, uncertainty and media permission notes are kept with the research. These records, images and build bundles are restricted to the owner; only material cleared for reuse is selected for the website-build assets. Codex and the sources used during research process the information supplied to them.
Research briefs and their images are retained separately as business preparation records. Deleting a linked preview or website request does not automatically remove its research brief. The owner reviews requests to correct or remove this research; it is included in the business backups described below.
When enabled, owner searches send the business search terms, town or area and selected place identifier to Google Places. Google processes lookup requests under its Privacy Policy. Results are displayed temporarily in the owner workspace. BuiltReady does not retain those responses or import Google photos, reviews or ratings into customer files. Website content is prepared from independently reviewed, permitted sources.
Keeping and protecting data
Access is restricted to the owner. Preview codes are stored as keyed hashes, uploaded attachments remain private, and customer website downloads require time-limited signed links. Owner research downloads require authenticated owner access. Automatic housekeeping moves unpaid, inactive leads to a recoverable bin after 24 months and removes them 30 days later; activity is retained for 12 months. Completed backups are retained for 30 days. Records connected to orders are preserved for an operator review after seven years rather than deleted automatically. The operator is responsible for checking housekeeping runs and any applicable record-keeping requirements.
Your choices and requests
Contact us to query information, correct business details, request removal of a preview, object to outreach, or make a personal-data request. We will review requests under applicable data-protection law. You can also raise concerns with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
